Clinton J. James: The final beauty of this white-tailed Texas hunt was harvested by Clint James of Lucedale, MS. The weather was warm, cool, misty, and foggy all during his hunts. This buck was harvested on the last day of his stay in Texas.
This group of hunters actually provided the Texans with much laughter and entertainment.
Mark McDonald: LeGrand Headwaters Ranch hosted guests from the great state of Mississippi. They enjoyed seeing all the white-tailed bucks.
Mark McDonald from Leakesville, MS, saved the best for later in the hunt. He was delighted as we photographed this 8 point buck.
Mark and Emilie were quite the competitors at shuffle board.

Michael (Scott) Reed and his beautiful daughter, Emilie, were our guests from Bell Buckle, TN. Scott harvested this 9 point deer. Now the challenge was on for Emilie. With perfect aim and a perfect shot she harvested a beautiful 9 point buck. We enjoyed the interaction of these two lovely people.
Emilie Reed: Congratulations to this lovely lady. What a great example she is for others. We wish her Blessings.
This picture is one of our favorite.

This Texas big bodied 14 point White tailed deer was killed at the LeGrand Headwaters Ranch in the north pastures on the fourth outing. Corey Simoneaux of Louisiana harvested this 5 1/2 year old 137BC Gross buck. This buck had a triple right brow tine and a double brow tine on the left. He had been rutting hard as he had not been seen for a couple of days. This white tail buck came out before dawn and was eating for 20 minutes before his big body could be identified as a mature buck. Corey took a great shot, waited a few minutes, racked another shell, and harvested a doe that did not run off from the first shot. Great hunting Corey!
Congratulations to James Domingue of Louisiana. This is only his second white-tailed buck he has harvested. He was calm and made the perfect shot on his third time out. He was positioned in a NATURE BLIND on the north side of the ranch. This buck chased a doe within a close shooting range of 25 yards. He scored 122 and was 4 1/2 years old. James completed his hunt by harvesting doe.

DEER REPORT
DEER REPORT: The whitetail bucks are still moving in buck groups. Does are healthy with signs of a good fawn crop.
Acorn crop is heavy this year with ample rains to sustain the whitetail deer food sources. Bucks are looking great. There are a few slots still available for archery or rifle hunting. Contact us at LeGrand Headwaters Ranch

Deer Friends,
White-tailed deer in TEXAS! The time is now. We have had several hunters ask about the white-tailed deer rut in our area. Here is a daily report from Field & Stream: Daily White-tailed rut report
Take advantage of this report and keep track of the rut in Texas.
The rains in our area have come at the right time. Yes, we needed more rain, but what the ranch received is ample to keep the food sources for the deer available. They are healthy and developing great antlers.
